CHINATOWN FESTIVAL MEDIA RELATIONS AND MARKETING ASSISTANT

In preparation for the Chinatown Festival, we are also recruiting ONE media relations and marketing assistant to assist with the organization prior to the Festival. We are looking for someone who will be able to assist approximately 2 to 3 days per week starting August (Flexible hours). The office is located in Markham and you will be reimbursed for lunch and TTC tokens. Main duties include (but not limited to): handling enquiries from the public and media, communicating with sponsors and potential sponsors and VIPs, and other clerical work. This is a great opportunity to those who are interested in marketing/advertising/public relations and to be exposed to the industry.

21st Toronto Dragon Boat Festival

The Volunteer Connection (TVC) is now recruiting volunteers for the 21st Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival. For those of you who are new to TVC and who may not be familiar with the event, it is a two-day dragon boat festival with around 200 teams and over 6,000 paddlers and more than 125,000 participants and spectators.

Toronto Paragon Lions Club Annual Charity Ball 2009

Toronto Paragon Lions Club are looking for volunteers to help with their Annual Charity Ball 2009.

When: Sunday, January 18th 2009
Where: Sheraton Parkway Hotel (Viva and YRT does take you all the way there. Directions on how to get there will be given)
Time: 2pm - 12am
Jobs:
- volunteers will be needed to help with reception, floor runners, silent auction, and clean up
- hours will be provided
- dinner will be provided

TCBA 2008 Inauguration and Annual Fundraising Gala for the Mon Sheong Foundation

There will be approximately 500 government officials, business leaders, associations, professionals and prominent philanthropists at this event.

When: Friday, September 5th 2008
Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre
Time: We will need a few volunteers from 3:00PM - 10:30PM to assist with various tasks including:

- venue set up
- distributing program books
- distributing table prizes
- directing guests to the stage
- collect donations from tables
- stage
- other tasks as needed

A buffet style dinner will be provided to all volunteers.
Note: September 5, 2008 is a Friday, if you are interested in volunteering but will not be able to report for 3:00PM, email us and we may be able to make alternate arrangements.

A Midsummer Night's Run 2007- The Hospital for Sick Children

A magical evening run along the Toronto's waterfront trials in support of The Department of Rheumatology at The Hospital For Sick Children. 30KM/ run and 15KM run/walk.

When: Saturday, August 18th 2007 - Sunday, August 19th 2007
Where: Toronto Waterfront
Time: Varies - Volunteers needed for the ENTIRE day. Start/End times subject to change and based on location worked. As early as 8:00 AM (18-AUG) to as late as 2:00AM (19-AUG)

Canadian Ultimate Nationals

CUC 2007 is a great opportunity to come out and watch the exciting sport of Ultimate Frisbee. Canada is the reigning world champion so some of the best Ultimate in the world will be seen! We need a volunteer army to help make the Canadian Ultimate Championships of 2007 the best ever. Volunteer for a couple hours or a couple days - any amount of time would be appreciated! There are numerous volunteer jobs available.
